The most advanced and innovative hair transplant technique: DHI (Direct Hair Implantation)

What is DHI (Direct Hair Implantation)?

DHI is a hair transplant technique performed using special DHI pens, called DHI implanter pens or CHOI pens. In the DHI technique, the extracted hair is implanted directly in the areas to be treated.

Advantages of the DHI method

The direct hair implantation technique provides the most natural look and the highest hair density. With the DHI method, there is no scarring and there is no bleeding during the implantation phase. The risk of scab formation is very low. Recovery from the DHI technique is very rapid, which allows patients to quickly resume their routine.

Which patients can benefit from the DHI method?

The most suitable patients for direct hair implantation (DHI) are.

1. the patients who require an implantation on the frontal gulfs

2. patients who want to thicken their eyebrows

3.Patients want a beard and mustache transplant

4.Patients who do not want to completely shave their heads

5. patients who wish to increase the density of their hair in sparse areas (provided the recipient side is not large and the donor side allows it).

DHI technique vs. FUE hair transplant

1. DHI uses a special implanter (choi pen) to precisely control the angle, depth and direction of the implanted follicles. It gives the hair a natural look.

In addition to this, you need to know more about it.

2. in the DHI technique, the grafts taken are implanted directly in the recipient areas. In the FUE technique, the collected grafts are stored in a special solution. The channels are opened in the recipient area and the collected grafts are then implanted in these areas.

In DHI hair transplant, there is no additional step to open the canals.

1. There is no bleeding during implantation with the DHI method as it is performed with a special implanter.

2. With FUE it is possible to transplant 45-60 grafts per cm², but with the DHI method it is possible to transplant 80-90 grafts per cm² without affecting the blood supply to the scalp. This means that the maximum density can be achieved with the DHI method. For example, if a maximum of 1000 grafts can be transplanted to one area using the FUE technique, 2000 grafts can be transplanted to the same area using the DHI technique.

3. The maximum number of grafts in a single session can be around 3,500 grafts with DHI and up to 5,000 grafts with FUE. Therefore, a patient who needs more than 3,500 grafts will need more than one DHI session or will need to opt for FUE.

4. To give a certain angle and direction, it is more efficient to use the DHI method.

5. With the DHI method, it is not necessary to shave the hair, only the donor side needs to be shaved. With FUE, the entire head should be shaved before the operation.

6. Patients who have had HID can return to normal activities faster than patients who have had FUE.

7. Recovery is faster with the DHI method.
